This Dance or Ceromonial Club is made of a single piece of Hickory wood, was made as personal medicine and therefore an example only. It was a fallen limb where a smaller branch (handle) grew out of a larger limb and is very strong, physically and spiritually. The Spirit that lead me to do this project dictated how the face was to be carved. The eyes are bone and the hair a Squirrel's tail. The upper portion of the handle is covered by a shed Black Snake skin. The sewn grip and paint decorated fringe is Deer skin. It is also adroned with blue and red glass beads with a band of Otter fur, sewn at the upper end of the leather grip. Adornment is also determined by the Keeper's personal medicines i.e. totems, colors, etc. With exception to the deer skin, all other materials were found at Spirit Run Lodge. Price will vary according to materials used and adornment. This piece is 17" long plus hair and fringe.
